MLS NEXT Homegrown Division

Elite Boys Platform
Overview

MLS NEXT Homegrown Division is the highest level of MLS NEXT competition and represents the most elite boys’ platform in North America.

The league includes MLS professional academies and selected elite non-MLS clubs. IFA New England Homegrown teams are fully funded.

MLS NEXT Academy Division

MLS NEXT Pathway
Overview

Introduced in 2025–26, the Academy Division serves as the second tier of MLS NEXT competition.

IFA New England operates two full MLS NEXT AD pathways based in Eastern and Western Massachusetts.

Format

Regional league play with reduced national travel compared to Homegrown.

National Academy League

National Platform
Overview

The National Academy League is a national platform operating throughout the United States and serves as one of the largest elite youth soccer organizations in the country.

IFA New England operates two full NAL Boys pathways based in Greater Boston and the South Coast.

Regional & National Pathway
Overview

N1 is the highest team-based level within the US Youth Soccer National League and US Club Soccer structure.

The league is designed for top-performing teams seeking a regional and national competition pathway within the USYS / US Club structure.

IFA West Boys teams compete in N1 as part of the IFA New England boys pathway.
