Ibrahim and Hamza Frederick Represent Grenada at Concacaf U20 Qualifiers

Intercontinental Football Academy of New England (IFA) is proud to recognize Ibrahim Frederick and Hamza Frederick (Shrewsbury, MA), who competed for Grenada at the recent 2026 Concacaf U20 Championship Qualifiers in Nicaragua.

The brothers who are members of the IFA U19 MLS HG squad, were instrumental for Grenada throughout the tournament, each starting all five matches against elite International competition. Ibrahim played across the back line, featuring at both full-back and centre-back, while Hamza led the attack as centre-forward, grabbing one goal and two assists. Despite finishing with a 1-4 record, Grenada competed well throughout the tournament.

The tournament featured 32 teams competing for qualification to the 2026 Concacaf U20 Championship in July and August, with the six group winners joining Cuba, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Panama, and the United States.

"It's been an amazing and fun experience for us both competing against some of the top players in the Confederation," said Ibrahim Frederick. The opportunity to test themselves against elite youth talent across Central America and the Caribbean represents a significant milestone in their development as young footballers.

"We're delighted to see Hamza and Ibrahim get this opportunity on the continental stage," said Scott Black, U19 MLS HG Coach and College Recruitment Director at IFA. "These experiences will serve as an inspiration not only for them to continue their hard work as they move forward in the next stages of their careers but to the rest of the IFA membership.”

The Frederick brothers will return to the domestic stage this spring as part of Black’s U19 MLS HG side. MLS NEXT brings together elite talent from across the country and provides direct exposure to college, professional, and as shown, National team pathways.
