IFA U15s Earn Premier Bracket Spot at Generation adidas Cup

Intercontinental Football Academy of New England (IFA) has qualified for the Premier Bracket at the 2026 Generation adidas Cup after three group stage matches against MLS Professional Academies at IMG Academy in Bradenton.

Matt Hardiman’s U15 side will take on FC Dallas at 9am on March 31st after finishing third in their group with three pts from three games.

Game 1 vs Orlando City (3-1 Loss)

In a closely contested fixture, IFA were reduced to 10-men in the first half but responded from the penalty spot through Cam Lewis to draw level, unfortunately two late Orlando goals made the difference in a tough opener.

Game 2 vs Seattle Sounders (3-0 Loss)

A difficult result against an excellent Seattle side. Despite the scoreline, the game provided clear learning moments heading into the must-win final group match.

Game 3 vs Minnesota United (1-0 Win)

A strong IFA performance in which Landon Martin's goal sealed the victory and clinched third place in the group, earning IFA a spot in the Premier Bracket.

"The level of competition here is among the highest in the nation for this age group," said Matt Hardiman, IFA U15s Coach. "We entered the event looking to play proactively while maintaining strong tactical discipline. The group stage provided a demanding test and a strong platform to demonstrate our qualities. It also provided lessons to refine key areas as we progress. We're pleased to finish the group stage on a strong note, and our focus now shifts to the next challenge in the Premier Bracket."

What Is the Generation adidas Cup?

The Generation adidas Cup is one of the top youth soccer showcases in the world, hosted by MLS at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. The 2026 edition features 88 teams from 14 countries, including clubs like FC Barcelona, FC Bayern, and Boca Juniors competing alongside MLS academies. Every team is guaranteed six matches over the nine-day tournament, which runs March 27 through April 4.
