Four IFA New England Players Selected for HS All-American Game

Intercontinental Football Academy (IFA) of New England would like to congratulate our four players selected to participate in the 2025 High School All-American soccer game.

Gavin Baer (Suffield Academy), Jeremie Kasongo (Northfield Mount Hermon), Trevor Steele, (Loomis Chaffee School) and Anthony Marziliano (Loomis Chaffee School) are among 41 elite high-school players selected from fall-playing States. The boys will compete in a East vs. West showdown in Charleston, S.C. on December 13th.|

The High School All-American game was set up by Eric Stratman in 2010, fulfilling a life-long desire to allow soccer’s high school players the same opportunities afforded to participants in other sports. Now in its 15th year the event, typically held nearby and around the NCAA College Cup has seen a number of professional alumni compete including Shane O’Neill, Jack Harrison, and Jacob Shaffelburg.

“We are delighted to see Gavin, Jeremie, Trevor and Anthony receive national recognition through their selection to the HS All-American game,” said IFA College Director and U19 MLS Next coach, Scott Black. “All four are great ambassadors for IFA and we wish them well for the conclusion of the Prep School season, prior to their return to our U19 squad,” added Black.

“When I found out I was chosen for the game, I was extremely fulfilled and proud,” said Gavin Baer on receiving the honor. “Making the All-American game was a goal I set for myself when I first started at Suffield, so earning that accomplishment is a dream come true.”

Baer (U19 MLS Next) an imposing centre-back has committed to Northwestern. He will be joined in the mid-west next season by Steele (Wilbraham, MA) with the midfielder heading to South Bend to play for Notre Dame. Both Baer and Steele played under IFA West Director Andrew Serafino for 10-years prior to joining the MLS Next pathway.

Marziliano, a teammate of Steele’s on both school and club, has played for the IFA MLS Next HG team for the past two years. The goalkeeper is currently undeclared as is his fellow Canadian Kasongo. The dynamic forward, originally from Quebec, is in his second season with Northfield Mt. Hermon and is rostered on the IFA West MLS Next AD team.

Reflecting on the club’s strong presence at the event, Baer continued,It feels like I picked the right club to develop and grow in. Iron sharpens iron, so being surrounded by so many ballers only makes myself and my teammates around me better as well.”

IFA New England is one of the pre-eminent clubs in the Northeast with a growing reputation for developing impact college players.
