GA Aspire Tryouts to Start Next Week
IFA New England will be hosting open tryouts for our GA Aspire teams beginning next week. With elite league play, intense training, and highly competitive showcase and tournament events, our GA Aspire program is reserved for those who seek to compete at the highest level. Tryouts will be held in various locations across Massachusetts: Ashland, Brookline, Sherborn and Newton for players
GA Aspire is a new addition to the Girls Academy structure . IFA was selected to participate based on achieving the required competitive, operational, and developmental benchmarks and fields teams at the GU13 to GU19 age groups in the Greater Boston area.

One of the features of the IFA GA Aspire program is to provide strong female role models within the club. Five of the six IFA GA Aspire coaches are female staff members.
“One of my key priorities when I became Girls Director was to provide an environment where our players have female role models who they can look up to and understand the journey they are on,” said Girls Director Charlotte Phillips. “Our coaches come from a range of backgrounds, from former professional players to college coaches and athletes. With over 14 female coaches in our girls program alone - the impact, perspective, and quality of coaching brought by our female staff is truly remarkable,” added Phillips.
IFA GA Aspire Coaching Staff
GU13: Charlotte Phillips: Charlotte is the IFA Girls Director with over 13 years experience coaching in Massachusetts including time as the Director of Coaching for Dover-Sherborn Soccer Club.
GU14 and GU16: Meotis Erikson: Meotis is a an A-License coach who enjoyed an illustrious playing career with Notre-Dame and the USWNT U20s as well as being drafted by the Boston Breakers in the WUSA League.
GU15: Dante Pineiro Torres: Dante has been with IFA for a number of years and is currently a USSF B License candidate. A native of Puerto Rico, Torres is the IFA Tournament Director.
G17: Keelie Verbeek: Keelie is the Assistant coach at Lesley University and serves on the staff of the Mass ODP program. She played collegiate soccer at Washington College.
GU19: Meredith Carey: Meredith is the Head Coach of the Wentworth University Women’s Soccer team and previously served as Assistant at Babson and Northeastern. She was a standout collegiate player at Harvard University.
GA Aspire teams train throughout the state with key bases at Dexter Southfield HS, Newton South HS and Ashland HS.
